EU 2026 Stage V Emission Regulations Take Effect: New Export Thresholds for Compact Construction Equipment

MACHTRADE 7 0
In 2026, the European Union officially enforces the upgraded Stage V emission regulations for Non-Road Mobile Machinery (NRMM). This new directive imposes stricter limits on exhaust particulate matter (PM) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) for compact equipment under 19kW, including mini excavators, skid steer loaders, crawler carriers, and remote-controlled landscaping mowers. To comply, all compact construction machinery exported to the EU must be equipped with certified low-emission engines and accompanied by complete EC type-approval documentation.
In response, domestic compact equipment manufacturers have accelerated powertrain upgrades. Mainstream factories have fully transitioned to compliant engines from brands such as Loncin, Kubota, Laidong, and Changchai. Notably, SDTC’s entire lineup of mini excavators, remote-controlled mowers, and land clearing machines has successfully achieved EU Stage V certification. We are now fully prepared for direct supply to EU markets, including Germany, France, Italy, and Spain.
